Review Policy

I AM NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING REVIEW REQUESTS

Just so it’s easier for everyone involved, here is my review policy! Let’s start with my star/rating system, then go into my actual policy for reviewing!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 stars

I absolutely loved it, hands down. The plot was engaging, the characters were phenomenal, and I had to fight to simply put the book down. There may have been a few tiny issues, but they were really minor and probably just a personal thing for me. A new favorite that I will definitely be gushing about!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ to ⭐⭐⭐⭐ .5
4 – 4.5 stars

Unlike the 5-star reads, a 4- or 4.5-star book probably has a few things I didn’t like, whether they were slightly problematic or it was just something like how the plot was structured or a particular thing in the book I might not have liked. But I still really liked it, and if it’s part of a series, I would most likely pick up the next book!

⭐⭐⭐ to ⭐⭐⭐ .5
3 – 3.5 stars

The book was pretty good, but nothing special. It might have had some problematic elements I wasn’t a fan of, or the plot and/or characters weren’t all that thought out. But overall, I didn’t hate it. I most likely enjoyed the book overall, but it was probably pretty forgettable, and I might not pick up the next book, if it’s part of a series.

⭐⭐ to ⭐⭐ .5
2 – 2.5 stars

This is when I start to really dislike a book. There were either too many problematic things that detracted from the story, or I just simply didn’t like it. Multiple offensive things probably happened without being called out on-page, along with a conglomerate of things I thought didn’t go well (plot, pace, characters, etc.). May or may not have DNF’d, and I probably wouldn’t pick up a book from that particular author again.

⭐ to ⭐ .5
1 – 1.5 stars

This book was just…bad. For whatever reason, I just couldn’t stand anything in it. It probably had no redeemable qualities, as far as I could see. I most likely hated the book, and I wouldn’t pick up another book from that author. Most likely DNF’d.

Miscellaneous Tips:

  • Obviously, not all genres are in these two lists. That means I either forgot about them, or I don’t have any strong (love or hate) feelings towards them. If your book falls in one of those unnamed genres, that’s okay! Feel free to contact me anyway; it’s usually a case-by-case thing, anyway.
  • I’m really into reading #ownvoices books and books with diverse rep! If your book has that, then it might be put at the top of my reading list (especially if there’s LGBTQ+ rep!).
  • I can usually read a longer book (300+ pages) in about three weeks, at the latest. If you could try to give me that amount of time for your book (if it isn’t published yet, especially), then that would be awesome!
  • For shorter books (less than 300 pages), it usually takes me, at most, two weeks or so. Again, if you can give me that amount of time to read and review, that would be great!
  • I accept eBooks, physical copies, and audiobooks!
  • I accept MOBI, PDF, and EPUB formats, but I prefer MOBI and PDF.
